Our Tools, Process & Technology
The tools of our roots in the engineering and steel detailing industries were pencils, t-squares and triangles. As CAD and CNC technology has progressed over the years so have the talent and skill of our staff. We currently utilize Design Data's SDS/2 software to model and detail steel structures and have full BIM capabilities.
Our shop detail drawings are concise and customized for each client's unique set of production practices. We understand how important a shop fabrication standard or field installation method is in the overall big picture of a successful project. Correct use of your standard parts and commonly stocked materials is critical to our workflow so that it is seamless in yours.
We offer BIM (Building Information Modeling) preconstruction consulting in several forms and at various stages of the design process, (CIS/2, .STP, .SKP, .DWF, .DWG, .RVT to name a few). Having a registered professional engineer and steel detailers on staff allows us to naturally and efficiently find and execute a "realistic" BIM approach to this format of design & detailing coordination. On the fabrication / production side we offer DSTV and DXF CNC data as well as FabTrol integration and KISS files.
Many of our projects have utilized a combined effort of engineering and steel detailing services delivering a complete and well-coordinated product that minimizes costly shop/field problems as well as production delays.
